Letter to the Editor
Rebuttal from Candidate Sue-Ann Hohimer

Transparency is a major issue in this campaign, which is why I’m compelled to address a misleading statement in my opponent’s candidate announcement published by the B-Town Blog on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

The original statement from Mrs. Alvarez claimed she was “the only candidate in the race with an educational degree.” After I raised concerns with both her and the publisher, the word “leadership” was quietly added to Mrs. Alvarez’s statement—without any clarification to readers. The corrected sentence now reads:

"Angelica is the only candidate in the race with an educational leadership degree."

While I appreciate the editor’s willingness to add a brief note acknowledging the change, the responsibility for accuracy and transparency ultimately rests with the candidate. Mrs. Alvarez’s revised wording still misrepresents her unique qualifications and fails to correct the misleading impression created by the original claim.

I hold both a Bachelor’s in Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching Language Arts, with graduate work focused on leadership in reading and literacy education.
