Here is a schedule of featured meetings happening this week for Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, Highline Schools, Port of Seattle, and King County. The public is encouraged to attend, be informed, and ask questions.

🗓️ City Council & Featured Meetings:

🏙️Burien:

City Council Meeting: January 12, 2026

• 5:30 pm, 400 SW 152nd

  • Public Comments: The sign-up deadline for public comment for that day’s meeting is at least one hour before the scheduled commencement of the council meeting. You can sign up by completing the public comment form.

Planning Commission Meeting: CANCELLED -Wednesday, January 14, Next meeting: Wednesday, January 28, 2026

  • Public Comments: In person, or you may send an email with your comments to planningcommission@burienwa.gov. A public comment that is received one week in advance of the commission meeting will be published with the agenda packet. A comment that is received within one week of the meeting by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting will be forwarded to the Planning Commission.

🏙️Des Moines:

City Council Meeting: Thursday, January 8, 2026

• 6:00 p.m. - 21630 11th Avenue S, Suite C
• Agenda - Note: They will be selecting a Mayor/Deputy Mayor. There is a public hearing on Unit Lot Subdivision, Lot Splitting & Substandard or Nonconforming Lot Regulations Update

• Public Comments: Members of the public who wish to provide comment during the meeting via Zoom must register in advance. To register, please email cityclerk@desmoineswa.gov by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on the Wednesday prior to the meeting

🍎School Board Scheduled Meetings:

Highline School Board Meeting: Wednesday, Jan 7, 2026

  • Public Comments: Sign-ups are open from 9:00 a.m. on the Monday of the week of a Board meeting and close at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the meeting (Wednesday).  You may sign up by contacting the Office of the Superintendent at (206) 631-3070, or by filling out the form below.  Leaving a message prior to 9:00 a.m. on Mondays, the week of the Regular Board Meeting will not allow a speaker to jump the queue.
