Travel Advisory: Nighttime Closures on I-5, SR 509 & SR 516 (Nov. 12–14)

From WSDOT – Updated to reflect a 9 p.m. start time for the three-lane I-5 closure on Nov. 12

Drivers in Burien, SeaTac, Des Moines, and Kent should prepare for overnight lane and ramp closures Wednesday, Nov. 12 through Friday morning, Nov. 14. Work supports the SR 509 Completion Project, including paving, striping, signage, and electrical installation. All work is weather-dependent.

I-5 Northbound Closures

• Nov. 12–13, 9 p.m.–4 a.m.: Up to three lanes closed between SR 516 (Exit 149) and 24th Ave S (Exit 150).
• Nov. 12–14, 9 p.m.–4:30 a.m.: Up to two lanes closed between S 272nd St (Exit 147) and SR 516.

I-5 Ramp Closures

• Nov. 12–13, 9:30 p.m.–3:30 a.m.: NB I-5 exit to SR 516 closed.
• Nov. 12–14, 9:30 p.m.–3:30 a.m.: NB I-5 exit to 24th Ave S closed.

SR 509 Closures (Burien/SeaTac)

• Nov. 12–13, 9 p.m.–5 a.m.: S 160th St on-ramp → SB SR 509 closed.
• Nov. 12–14, 10:30 p.m.–4 a.m.: 24th Ave S on-ramp → SB SR 509 closed.

SR 516 Closures (Kent/Des Moines)

• Nov. 12–14, 8 p.m.–5 a.m.: One lane each direction between Military Rd S and SR 99.
