Agenda Highlights
The Burien City Council will meet on Monday, January 26, 2026, for a full agenda that includes a public hearing on transportation improvement and several policy decisions that will shape comprehensive planning, human services funding, and housing investments in the city.
Proclamations and Presentations
Korean American Day - commemorating January 13 as Korean American Day.
Burien Airport Committee representatives to StART - will discuss their decision not to attend the recent “Day on the Hill” in Olympia.
Council and City Manager Highlights
The agenda includes Council Reports and the City Manager’s Report for January 26, providing updates on city operations, projects, and ongoing initiatives.

Public Hearing: Transportation Improvement Program
A key item on the agenda is a public hearing on the City of Burien’s 2026–2031 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Christine Hawatmeh, Transportation Engineer, will present updates outlining planned transportation projects and funding priorities over the next six years.
Consent Agenda
The consent agenda includes:
- Approval of the Voucher Report, totaling more than $2.7 million
- Approval of minutes from the January 12, 2026 City Council meeting
- Adoption of Ordinance No. 887, amending the 2026 revised budget
- Approval of Resolution No. 529, adopting the 2026–2031 Transportation Improvement Program
Business Agenda Highlights
The Council will take up several major policy items, including:
- Proposed changes to the 2026 Human Services General Fund allocation
- Presentation of Human Services Commission recommended funding priorities for 2027–2028
