Here is a schedule of featured meetings happening this week for Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, Highline Schools, Port of Seattle, and King County. The public is encouraged to attend, be informed, and ask questions.

Note: Last week was packed with government meetings. This week, there are only a couple scheduled. We have listed the next date for each category to keep our readers informed.

🗓️ City Council & Featured Meetings:

🏙️Burien:

City Council - Next Meeting, Monday, Feb 23, 2026

• 5:30 pm-8:30 pm, Address: 400 SW 152nd

  • Public Comments: The sign-up deadline for public comment for that day’s meeting is at least one hour before the scheduled commencement of the council meeting. You can sign up by completing the public comment form.

Planning Commission - Next meeting, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026.

  • Public Comments: on matters that are not part of a public hearing in three ways: 1. In-person Comment. 2. Written Comment. You may send an email with your comments to planningcommission@burienwa.gov. . 3. Online (Zoom) Comment. Join via Zoom and use the "Raise Your Hand" feature during the public comment portion of the agenda. 🍎School Board Scheduled Meetings:

Highline School Board - Next Meeting, Wednesday, Mar 4, 2026

Metropolitan King County Council Meeting: Tuesday Feb 17, 2026

Washington State Legislative Session

Keep up with all the scheduled hearings and committee meetings on important bills being introduced each day: WA State Legislature Website

The session will run until around March 12th. It is a shorter session this year (60 Days), and there are opportunities for citizens to comment PRO or CON on bills as they arise or to testify. Bills cover a wide range of topics such as: Budget Deficit, Housing, Data Privacy and AI, Taxes, Law Enforcement, Medical, Education, and more.
