Would you like to learn more about how Highline School District decisions are made, and be a part of that decision-making process?
Highline Public Schools is inviting parents, guardians, and family members to share their voices and help shape the future of the district by joining the Superintendent’s Family Action Committee (FAC) for the 2026–28 school years.
According to the district, the committee strengthens the connection between families and Highline Public Schools by providing feedback on policies, informing family engagement, and keeping Highline accountable for its strategic plan goals.
The district hopes to bring together up to 40 family members, with representation from schools throughout the district. Highline is looking for a committee that reflects the diversity of its families and communities.
A Voice for Highline Families
The Family Action Committee gives families an opportunity to bring their experiences, ideas, and perspectives directly into district conversations.
The goal is to have a representative from each school who can help ensure that a wide range of family voices are heard as district decisions are made.
Who Can Participate?
Parents, guardians, and family members of Highline students are encouraged to apply.
Members should be prepared to make a minimum two-year commitment.
The time commitment is expected to be up to six hours per month, including meetings. Members will participate in an orientation, quarterly meetings, and subcommittee work.
How to Get Involved
Families can nominate themselves or another family member to serve on the committee.
Nominations are due by October 9, 2026.
The first Family Action Committee meeting is scheduled for October 26.
