Highline School District is asking students, staff, families, and community members to help shape its next proposed school construction bond.
The district’s community-led Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) is currently developing a recommendation for the next bond package. If approved by both the school board and voters, the bond would fund school replacements and address critical maintenance needs across the district.
As the committee works toward a final recommendation this spring, members are seeking public input on what should be prioritized.
What Is Being Asked?
Community members are invited to review a list of key bond planning factors identified by CFAC and rank them in order of importance. Participants will also be asked to explain why they selected their top priority.
The district is gathering feedback through an online ThoughtExchange, which closes March 1.
District leaders say the input will help ensure that the final recommendation reflects community values and priorities.
Learn More About the Process
Residents who want additional context can visit the district’s Capital Facilities Advisory Committee webpage to review meeting summaries and materials, including documents from the committee’s February 2 meeting.
CFAC is expected to review community feedback in early March as members finalize their recommendation.
What Happens Next?
This spring, CFAC plans to present a formal bond recommendation to the school board. The proposal is expected to include:
- A detailed package of projects
- The total estimated cost
- The projected property tax impact
The school board will then decide whether to place a bond measure on the November ballot for voters to consider.
Community participation in the ranking process may influence what projects ultimately move forward.
