Filing has officially closed for the November 2026 election, and a number of local, regional, and statewide races that impact the Highline area are now set. Voters in Burien, SeaTac, Des Moines, Normandy Park, and surrounding communities will see candidates running for Congress, the Washington Legislature, King County Council, and local judicial positions. Below is a current list of candidates who have filed for races appearing on ballots affecting the Highline region.

Precinct Committee Officer (PCO)

Precinct Committee Officer (PCO) races may also appear on some ballots at the neighborhood precinct level if more than one candidate files for the position. PCOs are elected local party representatives who serve at the grassroots neighborhood level. Each voting precinct has both Democratic and Republican PCO positions. Public Interest Race: Former Burien City Attorney Files for Seattle Judgeship 

Former Burien City Attorney Garmon Newsom II has filed for Seattle Municipal Court Position 5. The race is only voted on by Seattle residents, but may still be of public interest locally due to Newsom’s recent role in Burien government.
