The Goonies
The Goonies movie is a beloved 1985 adventure comedy about a group of seven kids who discover an old treasure map, and set off on an exciting search for the legendary fortune of the pirate One-Eyed Willy. Along the way, they encounter secret passages, booby traps, and dangerous criminals while trying to save their homes from foreclosure. The film combines humor, friendship, adventure, and plenty of ’80s nostalgia.
The movie is based on a story by Steven Spielberg, and the main character is Mikey Walsh, played by Sean Austin.
Goonies was set in Astoria, Oregon, and most of the filming took place there.
Know before you go...
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and make an evening of it by grabbing dinner before settling in for the movie.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
Bring the family, spread out a blanket, and enjoy a movie night in the park.
