Bake Sale and Gifts
The sale will also feature an assortment of homemade baked goods, jewelry, artwork, and nature- and garden-themed gifts. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or looking for something special to take home, you'll find plenty of interesting finds.
There will also be a raffle with exciting prizes!
Vendors accept cash, cards, tap to pay, and Venmo, though cash is encouraged to avoid the fees for shoppers.
Fresh Apple Cider & More
Adding to the fun, friends from City Fruit will bring their cider press and make fresh apple cider free to shoppers during the event. Fruit will also be available to take home.
Partner organizations are expected to be on hand to share information about their community work, giving visitors a chance to learn more about local organizations and the difference they are making.
And if shopping and sampling work up an appetite, soul food will be available for purchase.
Supporting the Garden’s Next Chapter
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help support the garden’s upcoming move to the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden next spring.
The event is also powered by community participation. Volunteers who would like to contribute to the bake sale, donate items for sale, or provide something for the raffle are encouraged to get in touch for details at info@sharkgarden.org.
Enjoy homemade treats, fresh cider, local community connections, and one-of-a-kind treasures while supporting the garden and its next chapter.

Apple & Pear Picking
Friday, Sept. 11, 10 am – 1 pm:
Shark Garden needs volunteers to help pick the orchard for the food bank and the cider pressing at the Saturday Fall Open House. Volunteers can take some apples home too. They will be picking, washing, and sorting the fruit. They often have hundreds of pounds of fruit to help feed the community! The Asian Pears will go to the food bank, and the rest will go home with volunteers.
Upcoming Community Classes
Shark Garden Classes: The following information is from their website
Each season, Shark Garden partners with local experts, chefs, and nonprofits to offer free gardening, cooking, art, and environmental science classes to the public. The classes are held in the garden, and registration is usually required for each one.
The links to register are made available a week or so before each class begins. You can join their mailing list to get a one-day head start on registration, since they often fill up very quickly. The classes are free, but donations are greatly appreciated!
Here are a couple of classes coming up...
Saturday, October 2, 2026: Green Tomato Harvest: In this volunteer session, we’ll be harvesting most of our green tomatoes to process into sauces for sale. We typically make green curry, salsa verde, and a green enchilada sauce for our holiday sale (Oct. 24th). We’ll be picking green tomatoes and taking donations of them, washing and sorting them, and then cutting a lot of them up to store until we process them. Join us! Last year we had hundreds of pounds of tomatoes to do, so we can use the help.
Saturday, October 10, 2026: Fermentation 101 with Chef David Glass Learn how to ferment your garden produce to preserve it and develop excellent flavors. Chef Glass has a background in fine dining and is currently the chef for the Seattle Sounders. We’ll cover some basics like sauerkraut, pickled peppers, salsas, and more. This is a cooking demonstration class with tasting.
