The City of SeaTac has appointed Tiffany Washington as its new Deputy City Manager, city officials announced on Friday.

City Manager Jonathan Young led the process to select Washington for the role, citing her more than 15 years of public-sector leadership experience. She most recently served as Chief Deputy Mayor for the City of Seattle, where she worked on policy, operations, and budget management.

In a statement, Washington said, “SeaTac is a City that reflects the full richness and complexity of our region, and that’s exactly what draws me to this work.” She added, “I look forward to rolling up my sleeves alongside the talented staff here and getting to work.”

As Deputy City Manager, Washington will help oversee daily city operations and coordinate with department directors to carry out priorities set by the City Council. The role also includes supporting internal operations and aligning city programs with policy direction.

Washington’s previous experience includes leadership positions within Seattle’s Department of Human Services and the Department of Education and Early Learning. Before joining city government, she worked with regional nonprofit organizations focused on youth programs and advocacy.

“Tiffany’s demonstrated ability to lead complex organizations, support teams in delivering meaningful results, and maintain public trust in fast-paced, complex environments make her exactly the kind of leader SeaTac needs,” Young said.

City officials said the position was filled through a selection process focused on leadership experience, organizational management, and alignment with city values.
