Local Cities Guide to National Night Out | August 4

Communities in Normandy Park, Burien, Des Moines, and Seatac, will celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, with block parties and family-friendly events designed to strengthen relationships between residents and local police officers and other first responders.

National Night Out is an annual event held on the first Tuesday of August. The mission of the organizers is to help people build stronger, safer communities. Neighbors who know one another and share information about their surrounding area help to prevent crime. Often, block party hosts arrange visits from local law enforcement, giving people the opportunity to interact with police under positive circumstances.

Burien

The City of Burien is encouraging residents to participate in neighborhood celebrations throughout the city as part of National Night Out. Every year, more than 30 block parties happen throughout Burien.

Des Moines will arrange visits from police, fire, and local officials. Block party hosts are required to register.

Normandy Park

The Normandy Park Police Foundation is asking neighborhood groups to share plans for National Night Out events ahead of Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Groups with events planned are asked to send their neighborhood date, time, location, and contact person, if applicable, to info@normandyparkpolicefoundation.org.

NP City Sponsored Event - Night Out at City Hall Park

Normandy Park Police will be attending a Night Out at City Hall Park, 801 SW 174th Street from 6-8 p.m. Residents and Normandy Park Block Watch groups are invited to meet their neighbors and enjoy free pizza, games, crafts & prizes. Paws on Patrol will be there too!

SeaTac

SeaTac does not have any city-sponsored event this year. Check with your local neighborhood for block watch party information.
