New Start Community Garden, also known as Shark Garden, will be holding an Open House and Plant Sale this Saturday, April 25th, from Noon - 3:00 pm at 614 SW 120th St., Seattle (Salmon Creek Elementary site).

While you are perusing the plants for sale, stop by the Bake Sale at the High Tekerz Robotics booth.

Burien's Robotics Team 3574, High Tekerz Robotics, will have a selection of baked goods for purchase to raise funds for the team.

The Robotics team is a 4-H community-based program that may be impacted by Highline School's upcoming bond proposal. If voters approve rebuilding the new Cascade Middle School on the Salmon Creek site, where the Robotics Team currently meets and builds their robots, the team may face yet another move.

Highline's Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) will be presenting its bond recommendations to the School Board Directors this June.

The Highline Journal has followed the local robotics teams as they have navigated theft, loss of working space, loss of ongoing support from the Highline District, limited space and limited access to necessary machinery.

We are passionate about helping them gain support as a local community program that helps to enhance our children's opportunities, education, and career experiences.
