The community is invited to come together for a meaningful and delicious fundraiser event when Empty Bowls returns to Burien on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Burien Community Center, 14700 6th Avenue Southwest. Participants can choose to join for either lunch or Dinner.

Lunch - 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Dinner - 4:00 p.m.to 8:o0 p.m.

This family-friendly event offers residents an opportunity to enjoy a simple, comforting meal while supporting neighbors in need.

Local potters from the Moshier Art Center have generously donated handcrafted ceramic bowls for the occasion. With a donation, attendees are invited to select a one-of-a-kind bowl to keep as a reminder of the event’s purpose. Each meal includes soup, bread, dessert, and a beverage, all donated by local businesses that are proud to support hunger-relief efforts in the community.

Empty Bowls events occur in communities nationwide, raising awareness and funds to combat food insecurity. Proceeds from Burien’s event will directly benefit the Highline Area Food Bank and the White Center Food Bank, helping ensure families and individuals have access to nutritious food.

Minimum suggested donations are $20 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets may be purchased online in advance or at the door on the day of the event.

Community members are encouraged to follow the Empty Bowls Facebook event page for the latest updates and additional event details.

This event is made possible with support from the Burien Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, and Moshier Community Art Center. Accommodations are available upon request to ensure everyone can participate.

Join friends and neighbors for a warm bowl of soup and help make a difference—one bowl at a time.
