Communities across the Highline celebrated America's 250th birthday with parades, fireworks, festivals, and patriotic displays. Here are a few highlights from around the area.
Burien's Independence Day celebration brought the community together for the annual parade, featuring bands, floats, community groups, and families lining the streets. Leading the procession were Burien's American Legion Post #134 Color Guard, Boy Scouts of America Burien Pack 377, and the Paralyzed Veterans of America, paying tribute to the fallen and injured men and women whose service and sacrifice have protected America's freedoms for 250 years.

The Stars, Stripes & Sunshine celebration at the Des Moines Marina brought together families for music, activities, and a waterfront celebration.

Normandy Park celebrated with its traditional July 3 fireworks, followed by the annual Fourth of July parade and festival at the Normandy Park Community Club.
