Choose From 10 Tree Varieties

Residents can choose from a variety of evergreen and deciduous trees, including native species and trees well suited to Pacific Northwest landscapes.

  • Grand Fir – A fast-growing Pacific Northwest native with soft, fragrant needles and a graceful, symmetrical form. It is best suited for larger landscapes where it has room to mature.
  • Incense Cedar – An attractive evergreen with aromatic reddish bark and dense foliage. It is drought-tolerant once established and works well as a specimen or screening tree.
  • Deodar Cedar – A majestic evergreen with soft blue-green needles and gracefully drooping branch tips. Its broad pyramidal shape makes it a striking landscape tree.
  • Black Hawthorn – A small native tree with clusters of white spring flowers followed by dark berries that attract birds and other wildlife.
  • Pacific Crabapple – Washington’s only native crabapple, producing fragrant white blossoms in spring and colorful fruit that provides food for birds and wildlife through fall and winter.
  • Douglas-Fir – An iconic Pacific Northwest evergreen known for rapid growth and distinctive cones. It makes an excellent shade tree for larger spaces.
  • Weeping Willow – A fast-growing deciduous tree with long, cascading branches. It performs best in consistently moist soil and creates dramatic visual appeal near ponds or open lawns.
  • Sawtooth Oak – A hardy deciduous oak recognized for its serrated leaves, dependable fall color and abundant acorns, which benefit wildlife.
  • Western Red Cedar – A long-lived native evergreen with rich green foliage and aromatic wood. It thrives in the Pacific Northwest and is well suited for privacy screens or natural landscapes.
  • Western Hemlock – Washington’s state tree, this elegant native evergreen has fine-textured needles and gently drooping branch tips. It grows best in cool, moist locations and develops into a stately forest tree.
