The Port of Seattle has extended the public comment period for the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) Near-Term Projects by 30 days.
The deadline, originally set for July 21, 2026, has been moved to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, after the Port said it considered requests from the public to allow additional time for review.
The Draft Environmental Impact Statement evaluates proposed near-term projects at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport as part of the Sustainable Airport Master Plan.
According to the Port, the draft document is available online from the Available Materials section of the SAMP Environmental Review for Near-Term Projects website, which also lists specific locations where a hardcopy may be reviewed.

Mailed comments must be postmarked by 5 p.m. on Aug. 20, 2026 to be considered.
The Sustainable Airport Master Plan has drawn significant public interest from residents, local governments, and community organizations concerned about the potential impacts of airport growth, including aircraft noise, air quality, traffic, and environmental effects. The extended comment period provides an additional month for the public to review the Draft Environmental Impact Statement and submit feedback before the SEPA process moves forward.
